Aurelio Bustos Ybarra

July 24, 1926 ~ December 20, 2015
Aurelio Bustos Ybarra, 89, of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels.
Born on July 24, 1926 in Comal County, he was the son of the late Esteban Ybarra and Sista Bustos Ybarra.
In addition to his parents, Aurelio was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Gonzales Ybarra.
Aurelio is survived by his two sons, Esteban Ybarra and his wife Estella of San Antonio, Joe Ybarra and his wife Mary of New Braunfels; Two daughters, Amelia Ybarra of San Antonio, and Maria De la Torre and husband Felipe of Georgetown, Texas;
22 Grandchildren, and 57 Great Grandchildren.
Although Aurelio lost his left hand in an accident when he was only 21 and had very little formal education, Aurelio worked hard all his life to support his wife and family. Even when his legs were beginning to fail him, he was out doing yard work for some of his neighbors, or doing small plumbing jobs for them.
He loved any level of baseball, and especially the Major Leagues. He was partial to the Yankees, although he never would admit it.
A visitation will be held at the Lux Funeral Chapel on Sunday, December 27, from 5:00-9:00 pm with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home from 9:00am-12:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
