Barbara June Batey Henk
June 25, 1949 – November 1, 2026
Barbara June Batey Henk, 77, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2026. Barbara was born on June 25, 1949, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Henry and Alice Kern Batey.
On May 25, 1968, Barbara married the love of her life, Michael Henk, after the two met at the Waltz Drive-In. Together, they shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Barbara loved country music and dancing, especially at Twin Sisters Dance Hall. She could often be found on the dance floor enjoying her favorite song, “Neon Moon,” sometimes making it out dancing twice in one weekend. She was also a devoted fan of the band County Line and would happily travel wherever they were playing. Dancing and good country music brought her so much joy and created countless memories with those who shared those special nights with her.
As much as Barbara loved dancing, nothing brought her greater joy than her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. Being their Gigi was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for her family was endless, and the memories they made together will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Michael Henk; her daughters, Robin Collier and Bobbie Dietert and husband Jeff; her grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsea and husband Austin, and Tyler and wife Ashton; and her great-granddaughters, Peyten, Hayden, and Fallon. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Alice and Katie Mae, along with her beloved dog, BeBe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alice Batey; her sister, Jo Annie; and her brothers, Virgil, Charlie, Howard, Damon, Franklin, Kenneth, and Phillip Batey. Barbara will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will live on through the family she loved, the many lives she touched, and the countless memories made on and off the dance floor.
