Carol Rene Rankin

Carol Rene Rankin, age 70, passed away on September 18, 2024, in Blanco, TX. She was born on January 14, 1954, in Odessa, TX, to the late Billy and Margaret Rankin and was the older sister to the late Lori Riter.

Carol spent her childhood in Midland, Galveston, Houston, and Austin. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, she earned a degree in interior design and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Carol dedicated her professional career to J.C. Penney, where her talent and hard work led her to relocate several times, from Austin to Atlanta, then Houston, and finally to Allen.

After retiring, Carol moved to Blanco, where she designed and helped build her dream home, a beautiful reflection of her love for Southwest style. She spent countless hours tending to her garden, loved entertaining family and friends, and took great joy in baking holiday treats. A passionate traveler, Carol cherished road trips and enjoyed country dancing. She also had a deep affection for animals, especially the many Australian Terriers that shared her life over the years.

She is survived by her uncle and aunt, Dr. Roger and Noel Rankin; uncle and aunt Don and Beth Rankin; cousins Meagan Rankin, Ryan Rankin, Drew Rankin, and Blake Rankin; niece Celeste Bengston; nephew Matthew Riter; and niece Melissa Morgan. Carol will also be deeply missed by her grand nieces and nephews, dear friends and neighbors.
