We are extremely saddened by the unexpected loss of Catherine (Cathy) Novak. Cathy passed away April 2, 2024.

Cathy was born July 3, 1966 in Winfield, Illinois and is the first daughter of James Charles Novak and Cecilia Ann (Doyle) Novak. She lived in Villa Park, IL until the family moved to the Texas Hill Country in the early 80’s. She eventually made San Antonio, TX her home.

Cathy earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and dedicated her life to helping others in the fields of HIV prevention and alcohol and substance abuse counseling.

Cathy enjoyed theater, music, reading and spending time with family. A few of her favorite things – the book The Velveteen Rabbit, the movie The Princess Bride, concerts with Larry, Starbucks and Sylvester Pussycat.

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, James and Cecilia. She is survived by partner of 19 years Lawrence (Larry) Charles Diaz and her dog Danny Boy; sisters Mary Rita Novak and Theresa Marie Novak (Craig Clark). Cathy has many nieces and nephews , cousins, aunts, uncles and friends as well.
