Claudia Grace Raney Stayton was welcomed home to The Lord on Wednesday afternoon on the 20th of May 2026.
She’s with her gifted and extremely talented mother “Timey” whom she missed greatly and admired completely, and with her father “Papa” also an amazing person, patriot, veteran, father, grandfather and successful business man.
Claudia Grace had been a member of the Canyon Lake Reservoir/New Braunfels community for decades, and using the name Claudia Grace Stayton, she was both a sharing minister, and the author of “Heart to Heart With God – The Jesus Way”, and “Day By Day The Jesus Way.”
Claudia was eighty-two. Claudia Grace Raney was born on 16 October 1943, in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, and parents lived in Pearl City at the time.
She was the first child of Major Alfred L. Raney, Coast Artillery Corps, USA, of Fort Worth, and Alice G. Raney of Cincinnati, Ohio. Al and Alice had been present during the 7 December 1941attack on Pearl Harbor, and Alice found employment with the Provost Marshal of the Hawaii Department in order to remain with Al for the duration. Alice and Claudia returned to the mainland in October of 1945, where Claudia met her Grandparents for the first time. Lt. Col. Raney and his family returned to Houston, where Al resumed employment as Secretary to the President of the Board of Humble Oil. Claudia’s sister, Sandra Edith was born 24 February 1946, and Sarah Lee on 28 September 1948. Claudia was a 1961 graduate of Spring Branch High School, and attended Texas Technological College in Lubbock, where she graduated in 1965 with Bachelor of Art in English. She was an English Teacher at Spring Forest Junior High in Houston, and then became a full time Housewife, Mother, and Property Manager for a number of her Father’s Corporate properties. Her Christian faith brought her into a Worldwide Ministry Network with her Husband, Stayton C. Roehm of Houston.
Claudia is pre-deceased by her Parents; husband, Stayton; and youngest sister, Sarah Lee Raney. Claudia Grace is survived by her sons, Mark Adam Richardson, sixty-three, of Houston, and Christian Del Richardson, fifty-six, of New Braunfels and sister, Sandra Edith, of Corpus Christi; nieces Dr. Laura Cochran, of Santa Barbara, California; Kathy Cochran of Huntington Beach, California, and numerous Raney and Aiken cousins.
A Celebration of Life shall be held at the Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels Texas on July 11th 2026 at 11:00 am… Followed With a gathering for friends and family at the VFW 7110 600 Peace Ave. New Braunfels Texas 78130. Times will be posted here and sent out
