Curtis W. Johnson

Curtis W. Johnson, 64, of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Resolute Hospital in New Braunfels. Born on December 14, 1951 in Cameron, Texas, he was the son of Mary Hernandez and the late Z.T. Johnson. Including his father, Curtis is also preceded in death by his brother, David Johnson; sister, Cindy Sanders; and granddaughter, Megan Ulloa.
In addition to his mother, Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Olivia Johnson; daughters, Denise Ulloa and husband Peter, Robin Johnson and husband Michael Lagunas; grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Devon Ulloa, Peter Ulloa Jr., Madison Ulloa, Brooke Ulloa, Matthew Lagunas, Dylan Lagunas; great grandson, Preston Ulloa; nephew, Steven Bernal and best friend Isaac Mesa, both of whom he loved like sons. Also survived by his sister, Carol McDaniel; brothers, Darrell Johnson, Robert Johnson, William Johnson, Calvin Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Curtis enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family, friends and hunting buddies. Hunting was his passion and he looked forward to it all year.
A Visitation will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm with a Service to being at 7:00pm. Interment will be private.
Curtis, I can’t imagine what my life will be like without you. You became my little brother 15 months after I was born and we have always been so close. I love you more than words can ever convey and I miss you so much already. Love you, Carol

I shoot Curtis in the butt with a BB gun when he was 6 or 7 years old, and he has the scare to prove it. And so many more memories of our childhood, Love Big Brother Calvin!

Uncle Curtis you were always so awesome to all of us kids!! I’ll always remember the time I got to ride with you to New Braunfels when you were staying with us in Texas city!! It was a great trip just me and you!! I love you muchness and will miss you so much!!!

My deepest heartfelt condolences to all of the family. I have a lot of memories of our families being together when we were younger. And the time we’d spend at Jak’s with Curtis and Olivia, BBQing with Mom and Dad and the kids!!! Good times.
