Daniel James "D.J." Almaraz 31, of Nixon, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his home in Nixon. Born on March 21, 1986 in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of Roger and Judy Jimenez.
In addition to his parents, D.J. is survived by his wife, Adriana Almaraz; children, Nathaniel, Elijah, and Isabella Almaraz; siblings, Santino Gutierrez and children, Benny, Selina Tovar and children, and Marisela Jimenez; and grandparents, Henry and Alice Morales. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francisco and Guadalupe Jimenez.
D.J has always been an extraordinary father and wonderful son. He was full of life, energy, and always put others before himself. D.J was adventurous and loved to ride, work out, fish, and always up to try new things. But there was nothing in the world D.J loved more than his family. Left to cherish D.J's memory are Uncles and Aunts, Danny, Mary, and David Morales, Johnny & Christina Morales, Ethan & Diane Nichols, Francisco & Les Smith, Ted & Eva Jimenez, Pilar Jimenez, Ramiro & Jenny Jimenez, Steve & Cristina Garza & several cousins and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens. Followed by a dinner @ 4:00 p.m at 475 Ridgecliff Rd. New Braunfels Tx. 78130 for all friends and family to attend.

We’d like to offer our condolences to the Jimenez family during this difficult time.
I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all the Almaraz family. There’s such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I’d like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this point but it’s not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, “… power beyond what is normal “, to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, “… all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out “. Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, “… the God of all comfort “. One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Ps.83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.
