Danny Lee Stetler
April 30, 1948 ~ November 6, 2017
Danny Lee Stetler, 69, of Spring Branch, Texas died suddenly at his home on November 6, 2017. He was born April 30, 1948 in Van Wert, Ohio. He lived in Ohio, Indiana, California, and, finally, Texas. He always marched to the beat of his own drum but was a very loving father, friend, and companion. Throughout his life, he had a passion for muscle cars. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing muscle cars at Van Wert Airport Dragstrip, Van Wert County Dragstrip, and Penski Dragstrip near Sydney, Ohio, particularly a D Stock GTO, called the Judge, and a B Class, Factory Experimental Pontiac Catalina lightweight. In his later years, he was an avid collector of miniature, die-cast muscle cars. He is survived by a daughter, Lynette (“Lynn”), and a son, Robert, both of California; a brother, Donald (Andy) Lamb; a sister Peggy Lamb (Joseph David "JD") Morefield of Calhoun, Georgia; best friend, Jerry (Helen) Roberts, of Van Wert, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his long-time companion, Margaret “Peg” (Fisher) Schmoeckel, of Spring Branch, Texas, who died Feb. 9, 2016; his parents Leroy “Roy” and Dorothy (Brown) Stetler; and best friend, David (Rita) Lewis of Van Wert, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by his furry companions, Max and Bear.
