Charles Dean Jackson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. Dean was born in Odessa, TX, on August 6, 1952, to Robert (Bob) & Marjorie “Margie” Ray Jackson. He was the youngest of five siblings. In the mid 70’s, Dean moved to New Braunfels to help his dad with his shop, Schwab’s Welding & Machine, and eventually became co-owner for over 30 years. Dean loved most sports, but fishing, hunting & golf were his all-time favorites. He met his future wife, Nancy Erben, while playing softball at Comal Park. They married on January 29, 1983. He passed away the day after their 41st anniversary. Dean was an amazing mentor to his kids and friend to many who fondly remember his jokes.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Lindsey Rae Jackson; sister, Phyllis Calloway and brother, Dan Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Lacey Jackson, Whitney (Cole) Salyer, and Robert (Veronica) Jackson; grandsons, Charlie Hugh Jackson and Cooper Dean Salyer, who were his “littlest loves”. Also surviving are his sisters, Frances (Jerry) Irvine, and Dale (Nancy) Jackson; brother-in-law, Charles Calloway; sister-in-law, Frances Jackson. In addition, Dean is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and amazing friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Charles Jackson’s name to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels or Nora’s Home, 8300 El Rio St., Houston, TX 77054.
Dean’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  5. I went to PHS with “Dink”. We were on the swim team!! Lol we weren’t real fast, but alot of fun. We always seemed to have maintenance issues with our hot rods God rest the man, a good life and loving family.
