Donald “Donnie” Allen Stewart was called home the morning of August 27, 2024. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 17, 1950 to a loving mother, Betty Jean and father, Charles “Chuck” Stewart. He was a momma’s boy and his sister’s best friend. Donnie grew up in San Antonio, where he found a love for music. Even though he couldn’t read sheet music he learned to play the guitar by ear. He was also a part of a band in his younger years. Even though the band decided to call it quits, Donnie never put down his guitar. After graduation he made a living as a Journeyman Electrician, where he met one of his best friends, Jim Garman. No matter where he went, whether for work or pleasure, Donnie always made a friend and made people laugh. Donnie had many loves and passions in life, some of which were playing his guitar, Nascar, hockey, going to the coast and reminiscing with family and friends. Donnie spent time traveling to Colorado, Los Angeles, Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Georgia just to name a few. Donnie was able to fulfill a lifelong dream by driving Jeff Gordon’s #24 car on the Daytona Speedway. Even with having a once in a lifetime experience, there was nothing in the world that he loved more than his family, especially his two daughters, Wendy and Jennifer. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Jean, sister Cherie, brothers Kent and Charles Jr., his beloved dog Autumn, and his best friend Jim Garman. He is survived by his daughters Wendy Zepeda and Jennifer Stewart, grandsons Justyn, Brandyn and Collyn Buffalo, sister in law Janice Garman, niece Molly Webster, and great niece and nephew Harley and Travis, along with numerous family and friends. Donnie wouldn’t have wanted anyone to be sad or upset, but to remember all the happy times with him. Therefore, the family wants to invite everyone who knew or was touched by Donnie’s big heart to come celebrate his life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM. The Celebration Of Life will be held at Lux Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1254 N Business Interstate Hwy 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130. We ask you to come and share any memories of Donnie, as he loved nothing more than to sit around and share stories about “The good ol’ days.”

Thank you. Yes I have heard several stories from my dad.
GOOD BYE MY FRIEND I WILL REMMEMBER YOUR FREIND DAVE
Mr. Stewart. It’s with a heavy heart that I write this. Today is the day that we say goodbye and send you on your way home, not to Canyon Lake where you loved it or to Edenhill where you were loved by many, but to the open arms of your loved ones waiting for you in heaven. As you take that final walk free from pain wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches. Guitar in hand looking for a new band to play with. Rock on. Building a friendship with you over the last 6 years has made a special place for you in my heart. I’m going to miss the time we spent at your trailer talking about everything and nothing at the same time. I’m going to miss, but will not forget you my friend. Have a good night and sleep well. I’ll see you in the morning, bright and early and a little squirrel. Till we meet again. Love you Stewart.
