Eldon C. Lovelace
July 6, 1926 ~ January 23, 2017
Eldon Cullen Lovelace, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Eden Home in Braunfels at the age of 90. Mr. Lovelace was born on July 6, 1926 in Peoria, IL to Eldon Lovelace and Bessie Coltus Lovelace. Mr. Lovelace served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on May 21, 1946. He was an electronic engineer in the technology industry for most of his professional career. For a number of years, Mr. Lovelace was the drummer and sang in the local band, "The Silver Sounds", which played big band music. Survivors include his children, Kathleen Martinez and husband, Jaime, James Lovelace and wife, Sue and John Lovelace. In addition, Mr. Lovelace is survived by 11 grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Lux Funeral Home. Visitation will resume from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 9:30 AM on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM at the church. Interment will take place immediately following the church service at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
