Elizabeth Louise Kepp
1937-2024

Elizabeth (Betty) Kepp passed away on October 19, 2024. Those who knew Betty will remember her as a true and gracious friend. Betty was born on January 18, 1937 in Estill, South Carolina to Louise and Frampton Ellis. Betty’s early years were spent in Augusta, Georgia where she graduated high school from Academy of Richmond County. Betty furthered her education at Augusta College.

She married Lowell Kepp in 1956 when he was still a medical student at the Medical College of Georgia. Following Lowell’s graduation, the couple moved to Atlanta, Georgia where Dr. Kepp did his internship and pediatric residency. After Lowell completed his residency the Army moved the couple to California where they were stationed at Fort Ord where they remained until they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1962. During this time Betty was honored to serve as the secretary of the Officers Wives Club. Daughters Kathleen Louise and Amy Lynn were born during this time.

Betty and Lowell moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in June, 1962. Richard Ellis was born in Corpus Christi in 1968. The Kepps also had a home in Rockport, Texas.

Betty actively served her community. She was the first president for the Little Theatre Corpus Christi and served on the following boards – United Cerebral Palsy of the Coastal Bend, Corpus Christi Hearing and Speech Center, Junior League of Corpus Christi, Art Museum of South Texas, Texas Medical Association Auxiliary, Cornet Girls Club, Nineth Grade Dance Club and Rockport Center for the Arts. She was also involved in Driftwood Garden Club, Nueces County Medical Society, Society of the First Families of South Carolina, Huguenot Society of South Carolina, National Society of the Magna Carta Dames and Daughters of the American Revolution.

For the past fifteen years, Betty has been a resident of New Braunfels, Texas. While Betty enjoyed her time living on the coast, she was happy to never have to run from another hurricane. Once more she embraced the community by becoming involved in the local Daughters of the American Revolution organization and a Mahjong club.

Betty Kepp’s parents and her husband, Lowell preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters Kathy Turk and her husband Sam of New Braunfels; Amy Sieger and her husband Lonnie of Bandera; and son, Richard Kepp and his wife Cheryl of Llano. Her cherished grandchildren are Amber Addkison, Corpus Christi, James Addkison and his wife Amanda of Orange Grove; William Chuoke of Texas City and Steven Chuoke of New Braunfels; Mason Kepp and Max Kepp of Houston; Allaena Mauer and her husband, Clay of Corpus Christi and Sarah Turk and her husband, Alexis of Seabrook and seven great grandchildren.
