Elnora (Ellie) Christine Knodel Bolton passed away December 13, 2024,. Although she had lived in Marion since 1992 – she was recently residing at Remarkable Healthcare Nursing Home in Seguin, Texas. She was 95 years old.

She was born on May 13, 1929, in the small farming community of Bethune, Colorado. Her early years were spent on the family farm. She was a great help to her father since her older brother was married and her brother was serving in World War II. After her brother’s return, he took over the family
farm. At that time her parents relocated to Loveland, Colorado. She traveled to Denver, Colorado and Kileen, Texas for various job opportunities.

She met William Thomas and married, and they had three daughters. She went to Aims Community College, in Greeley, Colorado, and obtained her degree which provided her with the skills to work as the Business Manager, for a group of Cardiologists, a Family Practitioner Group, and a team of Neurologists. Throughout her working years she was a member of American Business Women’s Association. She continued her membership
well into her retirement years.

When she divorced, she was very active in Parents Without Parents. During her involvement with the group, she met, and married, George Bolton. Upon their retirement they moved from Thornton, Colorado to Marion, Texas.

She was very involved at Schertz United Methodist Church she served on Church Council, United Methodist Women’s Group, and San Antonio Methodist Healthcare Ministries at Wesley Community Center.

Her surviving family includes Daughters Diane Kramer-Kretzschmer (Ron), and Yvonne Turner (Jon) Grandchildren: Josh Turner (Cheri), Kimberly Turner, Andrew Kramer (Cris), William Kramer, David Alexander, Tyler Alexander, Michelle Thomas, Jeffrey Moore, Jay Buss, Caitlin Buss. Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Noelle, Cambrie Turner. Elsa, Malin Turner. Channel Kramer, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Proceeding her in death is her husband, George Bolton. Her parents David and Mollie Knodel, sister Fern Gramm (Llyod (D), brother Lewis Knodel (Thelma (D), sister Linda Leach (John), sister Charlotte Lyle, daughters Kathy Alexander (Dennis), Roberta Buss.

Services will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 9:00am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Pavilion #4. Reverend Jon Snape, from Schertz United Methodist Church, will be presiding.
