Esmeralda Zavala, 71, of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in New Braunfels. Born on May 26, 1943 in Travis County, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Juan and Theodora Rios. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Nevarez.
Esmeralda is survived by her children, Paul, Chris and Barbara Nevarez; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, EJ, Jeremy, Gabriel, Krystal, Siria, Jacob, Pamela, and Zach; great-grandchildren, Abigail, EJ, Serenity, Edgar, Lupie, Gabby, Daisy, Noel, Giselle, Raylee, Jesiah, Jrayson, and Aayliah; sisters, Minerva Villapando, Alice Rodriguez and Lucy Rios. In addition, Esmeralda is also survived by her son-in-law, Rudy Rodriguez.
A visitation will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 5:00-9:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Interment will be private.
