Fernando Herevia, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center-New Braunfels at the age of 55. Fernando was born on September 23, 1960, in Mercedes, TX to Eleazar Herevia and Anita Vasquez Herevia. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and 3 grandchildren. Mr. Herevia was an electrician by trade and was known for his weekend BBQ's by close family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Herevia; children, Miguel Martinez, Yolanda Gomez, Celinda Herevia, Monica Avila, and Eleazar Herevia; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Federico Herevia and Eleazar Herevia Jr.; sisters, Corina Zambrano and Leeza Hernandez. In addition, Fernando is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of close friends. Pallbears will include George Prado of Santa Rosa, TX, Ricky Quiroga of Santa Rosa, TX, Miguel Martinez of New Braunfels, Eleazar Herevia of San Antonio, Israel Herevia of Austin, and Elisha Herevia of New Braunfels. Honorary pallbearers are Federico Herevia of Santa Rosa and Adam Vega of Houston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 31. 2016 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery in Seguin.

  8. Mary Herevia and family, We were recently informed that Fernando passed away. We are saddened to hear of his death. We still remember him as a happy-go-lucky kid in elementary school and an even happier and delightful young man in high school. Fernando was a big part of our lives as children growing up in Santa Rosa, TX. He is remembered for his kind smile that radiated the warmth of his heart. Members of the Santa Rosa Class of 1979
