Gasper M. Garcia "Pie"

gasper garcia

Gasper “Pie” Garcia, 82 went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2023, in Seguin, TX surrounded by his family and loved ones after his short battle with cancer. He was born in Berclair, TX March 23, 1941, and married his wife of 60 years, Juanita Garcia on May 5, 1963.

Pie was known by many and loved by the world. Anyone who crossed his path either got a jar of his amazing hot sauce or a “Where you from?” Pie was a social butterfly and talked to whoever was nearby he never knew a stranger. Pie worked in the cattle business since 1963 and retired in 2007. He truly was the definition of a real cowboy, but he wasn’t done yet. He then went on to work part-time at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX where he retired in 2022 but couldn’t stay away, he continued working till his body and illness didn’t allow him to return to work anymore. While enjoying his retired life he spent many road trips traveling to Kickapoo! His last road trip was to Las Vegas with his wife and three daughters. He had the time of his life reminiscing with his family and soaking in the time together.

Pie was the son of Martin and Marcelina Garcia. He is survived by his wife Juanita Garica, daughters Denise (Albert) Moreno, Dorothy (J.R.) Gallegos, and Dana (Clint) Bolton. Grandchildren Jacob (Andrea) Bustos, Alyssa (Matthew) Medrano, Amanda (Alex) Lawrence, Alec (Shelby) Moreno, Aaron (Laura) Gallegos, and Dessie Bolton. Great-grandchildren Gulianna, Aiden, Cristian, Landon, Emilia, Ember, Elam, Grey, Lyla, and Lincoln. His siblings Delia (Johnny) Vela, Hilberto (Beto) Garcia, Ramon (Martha) Garcia, sister-in-laws Angie and Wilma Garcia, and Junior Ortiz, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Marcelina Garcia, sister Stella Baldillez, brothers Daniel (Neno) and David (BB) Garcia, and sister-in-law Rosemary Garcia.

May he continue the Pie Shuffle up in Heaven.

We love you and will miss you dearly Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Friend

And this is where the cowboy rides away…

In lieu of flowers please make donations to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospice – San Marcos. We would like to thank Christine, Roxanne, Marie, Candace, and Roberto for taking amazing care of our dad and putting up with him…you know what we mean, he loved every one of yall.
