Guillermo “Willie/Gordo” Silva Villanueva, age 77, passed away at his residence surrounded by family on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Guillermo was born on January 4, 1947 in Staples, Texas to Guillermo and Bertha Villanueva.

Willie started working at the age of 9 helping his parents work on numerous farms. In his teens he worked at Gary Job Corp. in San Marcos. He then worked at Mission Valley Mills for over 20 years.

In 1983, Willie established Hanna’s Kitchen which he and his family operated for 37 years. During that time he also owned The Double V Bar and The Same Old Place Dance Hall. He loved gambling whether he was in Las Vegas or Eagle Pass. He also loved dancing and spending time with family and friends.

Guillermo is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Basilio Villanueva. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Yolanda E. Villanueva; Children, Ramona Esquivel (Roberto), Connie Casarez (Rick), Grace Villanueva, Valerie Villanueva, and Felipe Ramirez, Adopted children, Elijah, Jordan, and Isaiah, Step children, Regina Rocha (Alfonso), Hector Guereca (Grace), and Sister, Juana Granado (Juan). 24 Grandchildren and 42 Great grand children. Guillermo was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was not only loved by his family but by anyone who met him. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume from 8:30 AM to 9:30 with a procession to follow to Our Lady of Perpetual Help for the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Procession will then follow to Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

He was a good man of many words, the family trips were great, he took good care of us and we never went without. Prayers for peace, strength and comfort sisters 🫶🏼
