Herlinda Rodriguez “Nana”, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Hill Country Specialty Hospital in New Braunfels. Herlinda was born on April 12, 1914 in Nixon, TX to Domingo Saldana and Manuela Gonzales Saldana. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan P. Rodriguez and daughter, Maria Gonzales. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Cabello, Consuelo Perez, and Elisa Chapa all of New Braunfels; four sons, Pedro, Francisco, and Johnny all of New Braunfels and Rudy of Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren, and five great-great-great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Nana you will be missed greatly, but you left so many good memories for me. Since I was a young kid to now I know your dancing up there because you loved dancing! Sorry I couldn’t be there in person bit I’m there in spirit! The barrio seco lost another great person!
