James "Jim" Stanley Hull
January 22, 1933 ~ March 3, 2015
James "Jim" Stanley Hull, a resident of Canyon Lake, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in New Braunfels at the age of 82. Jim was born on January 22, 1933 in Galesburg, IL to the late Clarence Hull and Mary Tingley Hull Burns.
Throughout his entire life Jim was very involved in barbershop quartets. He was well known for his lead voice in Illinois as well as Texas. He was most proud of his win in the 1968 international championship as a soloist for the Pekin Chorus. Jim had a passion for singing and bringing joy to others through his voice and performance.
During his professional career, Jim was a lineman for Illinois Power prior to working as Regional Sales Manager for Widelite, Chicago. Upon a promotion within Widelite, Jim moved to Texas where he retired from as VP of Sales and Marketing.
Jim was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church, Lion's Club, and Hill Country Chorus. He will be long remembered for his huge smile, and keen sense of humor, and bursting out in song, anywhere and everywhere.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diane Hull; children, Sally Glover, Jim Hull, Jr. and wife, Diane, Caroline Halicke and husband, Patrick, Matt Gledhill and wife, Nikki and James Gledhill and fianc, Diana; grandchildren, Carly Lormand and husband, Jarryd, Daniel Hull, Margaret Hull, Bryan Bradford, Monica Bradford, Joshua Halicke, Jennifer Halicke, Blake Gledhill and Grace Gledhill; great-grandchildren, Emery and Payton Lormand; brothers, Mike Burns and wife, Betty, Jerry Burns and wife, Phylis, and sister, Betty Shelton and husband, Clark. In addition, Jim is survived by his beloved beagle, Edwin.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Oakwood Baptist Church with the funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Our Dearest Friend Diane: Please know that we love you and are here for you always. We were heartbroken to receive word that your beloved Jim had passed!
