Resided in: Seguin, Texas

James ‘Jim’ Ray Ruble, 75, of Seguin, passed away on the morning of Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Pearsall, TX. Born on November 23, 1948 in Port Arthur, TX, he was the son of the late William Ruble and Julia Hazel. He was a graduate of New Braunfels High School, class of ’66 and was in the Air Force from 1969 to 1973. Though a free spirit, he worked as an optician, a groundskeeper at the Bandit Golf Course and later in life, an extra in movies and TV shows. Working as a groundskeeper helped him realize his passion for perfecting his own lawn. It must be lush and vibrant green and mowed almost daily. He had a green thumb so this was easily attainable for him to do. He enjoyed the company of his neighbor, Albert, spending many of hours a week playing cards and dominos and talking about anything from the weather to Trump. He was a good man, never taking life too seriously. His laughter was contagious and you would always know when he walked into a room. Stranger? No such thing to him. He’d find something to talk to you about. He knew who he was and what he stood for. He was a man of integrity and of love. A bright light and most importantly, an incredible father who will be immensely missed. Jim is survived by his daughter, Jaime Whitaker and husband Quentin, as well as his grandchildren, Waylon Morris and Briar Rose.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Hazel Jenkins and brother Rick Hafley.
