Janie Dee (Honn) O’Kane

Janie Dee O’Kane, 62, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2026. Janie was born in Natalia, Texas to Dale Everett Honn and JoAnn Wieland Honn. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend, known for her caring nature, strength, and dedication to her family. She shared a special love story with her husband, John, meeting him on a dance floor, something that remained a meaningful and cherished part of their life together. Janie had a way of impacting everyone she met. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, funny, and full of joy, a true ball of fire who showed what could be accomplished with determination and persistence. Her greatest joys were the love of her life and the gift of being a mom. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale Everett Honn and JoAnn Wieland Honn; her grandparents, Margaret Thornton Wieland Chinn and Lawrence Chinn; her brothers, Richard Alan Honn and Randy Lee Honn; and her brother-in-law, Felix Escalante. Janie is survived by her loving husband, John O’Kane; her son, Kyle O’Kane; her daughter, Brittany McCleary and her husband, Tyler McCleary; her grandchildren, Keygan O’Kane-Rubar and Aurora O’Kane; her siblings, Ron (Terry) Honn, Debra (Robert) Hunt, Kim (Vaughn) Davis, and Becky Escalante; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply; and her beloved dog, Roscoe. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is now at peace. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Tree of Life Church in New Braunfels, Texas. The family asks for continued prayers during this time.
