My sister in-law Joan had humor, compassion, loved children & animals. Had her ups & downs, always did her best to move forward in life. Memories: Ron & I visited in April. All dined at Antler’s, their favorite restaurant. Shared Ron & Joan’s Brooklyn/Port Monmouth,NJ youth. Mine: Time w/her & Luke in TX starting @ Starting Gate & my home in New Braunfels, they married on the front lawn. Joan called me “Hazel”. Luke made porch swing, etc. Joan made a stuffed Bunny (still have it). We cooked NJ pasta vs Tx grub. “Staying In The Loop”! Stories, babysitting, families, holidays, laughs, hugs, joys & sorrrows. Now both are gone. Miss calling u on wkends sending u updates & pics, ur laugh. I love u, rest in peace, be with loved ones passed before u & look down from heaven with a “smile” on all those you love. I will meet u again… I believe u are in a better place; wish it could have been later than sooner. Rest in Peace. God Bless! Linda Tobias-Soden xox & Ron McGrath
Beverly, John, and Beckums, how happy I was to meet Joan so long ago. Immediately, she was special in our lives for her acceptance and love for our Gentry, which at the time was a tall order for most people as you well know!! 🙂 She is our Gramma Joan to this day and forevermore. You and your family are in my prayers that you may feel comfort, peace, and strength. I’ll be in touch Beverly…love to all..and love to sweet Joan… The Walkers
In loving memory of Joan Mayfield, we are saddened by the sudden loss of your Mom Bev. We have been privileged to know her through you for all these years. She is alive as always to us through all the kindnesses and love you shared about her, for her and learned from as well. It was beautiful to see such a close and abiding relationship between Mother and Daughter, your love for her was inspiring and deeply noted by us.
