Joe L. Pina, a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 39. Joe was born on January 4, 1975 in New Braunfels to Xavier Pina and Ofelia Leos Pina. By trade, Joe was employed as an auto mechanic. He is survived by his loving wife, Susie Dominguez Pina; sons, Joe Pina, Jr. and Jacob Pina; parents, Xavier Pina and Ofelia Leos Pina; brothers, Bacilio Pina, III and wife, Jessica and Ruben Pina and girlfriend, Danielle; father and mother-in-law, Jesse Dominguez and Linda Dominguez; sisters-in-law, Benita Dominguez and boyfriend, Michael Herrera and Jessica Gutierrez; ex-brother-in-law, Rey Molina. In addition, Joe is survived by nieces, nephews and a special aunt, Beatrice Gomez. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the doctors and nurses for the exceptional care Joe received. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a prayer service scheduled from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Inocencio Paredez officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be: Cruz Gonzalez, Carlos Ramirez, "Cousin" Joe Valdez, Ambro Valdez, Felipe Ramirez and Ector Balderas. Honorary pallbearer will be: Bacilio Pina, III.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Pia family at this difficult time. I remember Joey when he was a baby, and my sister I would stroll him around in front of our house. We also loved holding him. I will always remember his smile. We love you Joey.

Im sorry for the loss of Joe. Just from the hospital stays, he was a wonderful person! And Susie, you are a true blessing to him. Yall are in my prayers. RIP Joe.

My sincere condolences to the Pina and Dominguez family. This is very hard, to put into words for Joey. He was a hard worker at the dealership, built great backyard decks/ porches, he was a strong person. We are going to miss him.

My deepest condolences to my cousin’s Xavier and Ofelia.I remember Joey as a young man in his early teens hanging out with my son just being silly and having fun.You will be truly missed but,there is no more pain and suffering for you.
