John Joseph Mannion of New Braunfels, Texas passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on February 16th, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents John and Catherine Mannion. He married the love of his life Beth in 1956 and then served four years in the US Army, primarily stationed at The American Hospital in Paris. After he and Beth raised a family of four, he went back to get a Bachelor's degree in 1975 from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Jack worked as a Systems Designer for GE / Lockheed Martin at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory for 32 years. Jack and Beth lived, and raised their family in Scotia, NY. In retirement, he and Beth moved to Pensacola, FL, before moving to New Braunfels, TX in 2004. Jack was a great family man, a loving husband, and father. He touched the hearts of people he interacted with throughout his lifetime. He always had time to talk to people or share a kind word. He was a caring and spiritual man who was comfortable sharing his emotions and opening his heart to those who knew him. Jack was a social and active man who was deeply involved in church, community, and school activities during his life. Jack is survived by Beth, the love of his life, best friend, and wife of 60 years; his daughter Lisa (Steve) Youngentob; sons John (Jami), Mike (Staci), and Doug (Karen); 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister Eileen McKeown, and brother, Vince. In addition, Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 12 noon on Friday, April 7th, 2017, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jack's life.   2. Dear Beth and family, Jack was the reason we settled in Scotia. It was a wonderful place to raise a family. I am still there today. Steve passed away a few years ago I know he admired Jack very much. I send you my deepest sympathy. He was a wonderful man and you both a couple to admire. Sending love.

  5. I WAS SADDEN TO LEARN OF JACK’S DEATH. I LOST TRACK OF JACK & BETH AND LIFE KEPT HAPPENING AFTER THOSE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER YEARS LONG AGO. MY BEST TO HIS FAMILY AND EVERYONE WHO WILL MISS HIM. THINKING OF YOU.
