John Stuart Leyendecker, Jr. went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Bulverde, Texas, at the age of 85. He was born on July 26, 1938, in Laredo, Texas, to John Stuart Leyendecker and Marie Link Leyendecker.

John attended Martin High School in Laredo and Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas to earn his BS in Engineering. John later received an officer’s commission in the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam, earning the rank of Captain. John opened his own construction business in Laredo, building roads and bridges for over 25 years. He later worked for the Texas A&M University System and LNV Engineering, eventually retiring in Bulverde.

John is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Michael (“Mickey”) and Charles Link Leyendecker (Diane). John is survived by his wife Linda Nix Leyendecker, and two sons: Dan Stuart Leyendecker (Tricia) and John James Leyendecker (Jenifer); two grandsons: Dan Stuart Leyendecker, Jr and Matthew Sims Leyendecker (Coryne). He is survived also by his brother Richard Maurice Leyendecker (Carolyn), sister Marie Leyendecker Sample (Richard), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Home Church (formerly Community Bible Church Bulverde), 7100 US-281, Spring Branch, TX, 78070. Lunch will be served after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Home Church at 7100 US-281, Spring Branch, TX, 78070, or Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center, 30280 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX, 78163.
