Jose (Joe) Dario Sierra, age 77, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away Wednesday evening, February 19, 2025, at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. Jose was born on November 20, 1947, in Crosbyington, TX to the late Dario Luz and Maria Palma Sierra.

Joe was a proud resident of New Braunfels, Texas, and was a 1965 graduate of New Braunfels High School. After high school, Joe proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He later served 20 years in the US Air Force Reserves. He worked for Entex (Centerpoint Energy) before taking a job at Kelly Air Force Base where he retired. And then worked at RBFCU until his retirement.

Joe enjoyed spending time with family, trying out new restaurants, traveling and watching football. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dario and Maria Sierra and by three sisters, Connie Flynn, Angela Zamora and Maria “Belia” Leos and nephew Louis Zamora.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Raquel Aguirre Sierra; sister, Gloria (Ramon) Luna; brother, Victor & Rebeca Sierra and by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A time to visit with the family will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Entombment with military honors will immediately follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Mausoleum. A Celebration of Joe’s life will follow at the American Legion, 410 W. Coll St. in New Braunfels.
