In Loving Memory of Jose T. Correa

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Jose T. Correa. He departed this world on January 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 84.

Jose was born on March 20, 1939, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Federico and Aurora Correa. He was a remarkable man known for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many with his generosity and gentle spirit.

In his youth, Jose possessed a deep passion for music, dancing, and sports, particularly football and baseball, which he wholeheartedly shared with his loved ones. His unwavering devotion extended to being an enthusiastic supporter of both the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. During the New Braunfels High School football season, our father could often be found in his favorite recliner, avidly listening to the game on the radio. His excitement knew no bounds when the Unicorns took to the field and appeared on the TV screen. His dedication was not limited to leisure; he carried the same commitment into his professional life as an employee of the City of New Braunfels for 23 years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his tireless work ethic and unwavering dedication.

Above all, Jose was a devoted family man. He cherished the moments spent with his beloved wife, Maria Elena Davis, and their four children. His greatest joy in life was being a loving father and doting grandfather to his eight grandchildren, and his one great-grandchild. He leaves behind a long-lasting legacy of love, unity, and strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jose T. Correa, Jr., granddaughter, Angelita Vielma, and sister Odilia Fuentes. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Maria Elena Davis Correa, and his children, Nelly and husband, Ricky Aguirre, Maricela and husband, Manuel Vielma, and Daniel Correa. His grandchildren Brandon Aguirre, Anyssa Vielma, Christian Aguirre, Desiree Correa, Breanna Aguirre, Gabriella Vielma, and Victor Vielma, and great-grandchild Aviana Cruz, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10:00 AM, with a procession to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Jose T. Correa Sr. will forever be remembered as a loving father, a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, and a dear friend. His memory will live on in our hearts, and his love will continue to inspire us. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the love he shared.
