Josephine P. Ortiz, age 68 was a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 21, 2015 at Kirkwood Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was born on November 8, 1946 in New Braunfels to the late Alfredo Perez and Francisca Gallegos Perez. She was a hardworking employee at Mr. Gatti's Pizza and devoted mother. Some of her hobbies were playing bingo, working on her arts and crafts as well as listening to her favorite music. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Reynaldo V Ortiz on May 2, 2009 and by her brother, Rudy Perez. Survivors include her sons, Reynaldo Ortiz, Jr. and wife, Denise Ortiz and Michael Ortiz and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rae Diaz, Kinley Ortiz, Erin, McKenzie and Noah Rippy; brothers, Lupe, Ramon, Crespin and Ruben Perez. In addition, Josephine is also survived by her sister, Isabel Bayona. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning, October 27, 2015 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens.
