Kolby Logan Taylor, 20, a lifelong resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 in San Antonio after a brief illness.  Born in New Braunfels, he is the son of James Kenneth Taylor and Amy Michelle Henke Taylor.  In addition to his parents, Kolby is survived by his brother Keaton Taylor.  He is also survived by his grandmother, Mamie N. Henke; grandparents Keith and Deborah Taylor; and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  Kolby was preceded in death by his Grandfather Elo H. Henke.

Kolby loved music and all musical instruments. He started with the euphonium, then changed to the clarinet which he played throughout high school. Kolby taught himself to play the piano and was learning to play the flute and the violin. Kolby was a member of the Canyon High School marching band for four years. In his senior year he also played the saxophone in the Jazz Band. Kolby graduated from Canyon high school in 2022. He attended San Antonio College with the plans to become a nurse.

Kolby loved reading any book by the author Stephen King or James Patterson. He was fond of any musical movies, especially Disney. Traveling with his family in the Model A and visiting new places was also on his list of accomplishments. Kolby had a great work ethic and loved working hard to make his own money.  He was a well loved employee of H.E.B. where he worked as a night grocery stocker.

If you ever met Kolby, you would first notice his infectious smile and his quick wit and sense of humor.  To spend time with Kolby was always a delight and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2023 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00-8:00 PM with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2023at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kolby’s name to Sts. Peter in Paul Catholic Church or the Leukemia Foundation.
