Maria Consuelo Juarez De Cruz, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away Thursday morning, December 5, 2024, at the age of 90. Maria was born on November 27, 1934, in Mexico to the late Pueblo Juarez and Patrocinia Padilla Juarez. Consuelo was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many. To friends and neighbors, Consuelo was always kind, soft spoken and courteous. To her family, she was known to be a strong woman of faith, loyal, hardworking and a warrior. Over the course of life, Consuelo faced many challenges. Everything that was thrown her way she persevered and showed those close to her what it means to put up a fight. After all the challenges in her life, Consuelo taught her family core values through her bravery, kindness and resilience. Consuelo, despite the hardships she overcame, she was and will continue to be an inspiration for all the future generations. Long live Maconi! She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Pablo Osio Cruz, who passed away on December 1, 2020, and by her daughter, Consuelito Cruz. Survivors include her five daughters; four sons; many grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Consuelo is survived by a sister. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery #2, located off of FM 482.
