Marilyn Womack
February 16, 1942 ~ May 23, 2020
Marilyn Ann Womack, our One and Only, was welcomed to the world on February 16, 1942 in Port Angeles, Washington. She left this Earth on May 23, 2020 at 78 years-old, after suffering a stroke and recently undergoing heart surgery.
Awaiting her arrival to the heavenly plane were her parents, Lois Deane Simon-Keller and William Elijah Keller, and 5 of her siblings, Mitchell Lewis Keller, Carole Deane Keller, Christine Ruth Keller, Richard William Keller, and Sherri Lois Keller-Woo, as well as many beloved family pets, especially Sadie Sue.
She is survived by her doting husband, Ben Harold Womack, whom she was married to on a snowy day, December 21, 1961 in Boise, ID, at the courthouse. As well as two unconditionally-loved daughters, Kelli Lynn Womack-Ames and Kasey Kay Womack, a truly-admired son-in-law, Edward Ames, her eternally-adored grandson, Nathan Edward Ames, and sister / favorite travel companion, Lovella Joan Keller. She deeply loved all of her surviving extended family in Texas and San Francisco, CA, as well as her many close friends (some known for over 40 years).
Marilyn received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in December of 1993 from North Harris Community College in Houston, TX. She graduated with honors and was an incredibly diligent student whose favorite course subjects were Law and Geology. She was also a handwriting analyst as well as a certified Nia instructor. She and her family lived in Saudi Arabia during the 1980’s, where she learned to speak Arabic. They also traveled to Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, and Switzerland. Her cooking specialties included chocolate pie, biscuits & gravy, buttermilk-beer pancakes, and the best Thanksgiving dressing in the world. There was a constant sparkle in her eyes, which conveyed curiosity, warmth, and occasionally a twinkle of orneriness. She never met a stranger, and her favorite topics of conversation were about her girls and grandson, books, movies, pets, Scrabble and astrology.
Marilyn wants you to remember her dancing, laughing singing. Look for her essence in sunshine, hummingbirds, butterflies, and lady bugs and know that she is now free in the wind, making new discoveries.

GOD BLESS YOU BEN
My Aunt Marilyn was very quick witted, and this intelligence shined through her beautiful hazel eyes. She was so interesting to talk to, I never had a dull conversation with my Aunt. She lived life to the fullest, always needing to keep her mind occupied. She loved her daughters so much, and grandson, her eyes would shine with love when she talked about them. Her husband, Benny, was her focal point. His well being was her top priority. He had nothing to want with her care for him. I know he will be loss without her. My heart weeps for him, and the entire family, such a huge irreplaceable loss. I love and miss you Auntie, fly with the Angels, Lin
My most sincere condolences. Aunt Marilyn was truly loved and will be missed. When I read the below, I think of her and the beauty she brought to those she loved. Near a shady wall a rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God’s free light, Watered and fed by the morning dew, Shedding it’s sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength With never a thought of fear or pride, It followed the light through the crevice’s length And unfolded itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view Were found the same as they were before, And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing it’s fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint and fall? Nay! Let us faith and hope receive– The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forever-more.
beautiful poem from our niece kathy. this describes her perfectly. auntie joanie
My condolences, I did not know personally, but I worked with Ben and talked about her all of the time. I often called her his project manager. He always talked about how smart she was and how well she dealer with what ever life sent her way. I know she will be and is already greatly missed. I hope to meet her in paradise.
My aunt Marilyn was a beautiful kind soul. When she would come to town she would bring a wave or warmth and kindness and love with her . She is triply missed, love you auntie Marilyn Lara xoxoxo
Marilyn will be missed tremendously. She always did have that sparkle in her eyes. Marilyn loved to have a good time. I remember the days in Saudi Arabia when are family got together with the Womacks. Kasey and I (Lisa) would hang out and get into mischief, Candy and Kelli hung out and Ben and Jim Burchett would be doing their own thing on the computer or discussing Aramco and of course; Marilyn and Donna Burchett were being ornery. They were always up to something while drinking their homemade wine. I knew I could always call Marilyn if I needed anything or just wanted to talk. We shared many laughs and many meals together over the past 40 plus years. She was like a second mother to me. She was never afraid to express her feelings. My mom and I flew to Odessa in the 80’s after they returned back from Saudi. We had such a good time playing with her dog and cat My recollection is their names were Leo and Oliver. I loved her baby talk to them. Marilyn was just a nice, good hearted, thoughtful , fun to be with person. My condolences go to the Womack family and all her friends .RIP.
A world with out my aunt Mary is a lesser place. I do not like to think I will not hear her sing ever again or hear her talk and chide me in that endearing way she had. aI remember her hazel eyes that could take your measure and count out the change. And I remember how she could bring calm to chaos because she accepted a situation for what is was and moved forward with that realization. I remember If you had a problem you could always count on aunt Mary to listen, and ask the right questions. I remember her funny reparte with her sisters and gentle teasing of her brothers. I remember her playing piano and singing, and she was so talented she even taught a boxer to sing and say “I love you.” I remember her telling me stories of the far away places she had travelled and the people she had met. I remember her big heart and the strength of her love. I remember, and will never forget.
bobby, my son, such beautiful words you spoke of my beloved best friend and sister marilyn. she was always so delightful to be around, uplifting, with a positive attitude. i will miss all our vacations together, and the future ones, that we will never have again. she was sassy, strong, kind, and very smart and wise. shes with the angels now, and all the family that has passed on. i will be looking for you sister, when its my turn to leave this earths journey, it will be sad without you, but i am happy that you are in a good place, with no pain, and no more worries. my children dearly loved you, all three of them, tina, bobby and lovell. you will be missed sweet sister of mine, and such a good auntie to my children, and the other sibblings children in the family. see you on the other side, one of these days. sister lovella.
Marilyn was a most wonderful person and lady . She was kind and caring and always a shoulder to lean on . She had an infectious laugh and loved a good joke . We loved her visits to SF , a good excuse for exploring our fair city and trying out new restaurants and delicious foods . She was adventurous and just rolled with whatever we were doing or planned on doing . We will miss our Aunt but have many memories to make us smile and remember her by . Love you Aunt Marilyn xox
