Mark William Matthews

Mark William Matthews, 60, of Canyon Lake, TX, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home. Mark was born on September 28, 1965, in Pasadena, TX and grew up in the surrounding area and graduated Deer Park High School in 1984. Mark enlisted and served in the US Marine Corps from 1984 to 1989 as an Aircraft Mechanic which was his profession for 34 years.

Mark was known for his witty and sarcastic sense of humor. He loved his country and enjoyed sparring with others about his political views. Mark loved studying history and was an avid reader. Mark had a giving nature and would help anyone in need that he considered a friend. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and trips to the Texas Coast.

Mark is survived by his wife Vikki Matthews; mother, Shirley Matthews (Harlan); daughter, Rachael Matthews; son, Samuel Matthews. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Glen Matthews.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held on February 7th at 2pm at Cranes Mill Baptist Church with a reception to follow at Startz Memorial VFW Post 8800.
