Marvin Farris

March 22, 1940 ~ February 23, 2022
Marvin Edward Farris [Pete] passed away on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 after reaching the age of 81 years old. After months of failing health, he died peacefully in his home in Wimberley, Texas with his beloved wife of 42 years, Candy by his side.
Pete was born in Longview, Texas on March 22nd, 1940 to Otis and Maxine Farris. His adolescent years were spent in White Oak, Texas with his extended family where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He graduated from Victoria High School and went on to attend Victoria Junior College.
As a proud patriot, he served with the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Through adulthood, Pete worked for Motorola and Mayflower Moving Company, but his greatest dedication was his family. As the glue that held his family together, he is survived by his 4 loving children, Suzette Mathis (husband Derek), Keith Farris, Nicolette Jeter (husband Jeff), and Cristina Wright (husband Michael).
Pete was generous in his way of sharing experiences and time with others. As an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer his loving heart and spirit allowed others to feel warm and cheerful in his presence. Pete truly never knew a stranger.
After retiring and moving to Wimberley, Texas he dedicated time to serve his community as a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and proud member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. His enthusiastic storytelling will always be remembered by his 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, who adoringly shared in his light.
Services will be held Thursday, March 10th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Wimberley, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of his giving heart to St. Vincent de Paul, 14711 RR 12, Wimberley TX 78676.
