Mary Nell Sherman Halsell passed away in New Braunfels, Texas, on March 6, 2013. She bravely fought but lost her battle against ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease). She is survived by her husband, Jerry Halsell, her children John Halsell, Robert Creduer, Charles Halsell, Trina Halsell, Sherry Dyer and Doug Dyer. She also leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren, Patrick, Brin, Cedric, Kiran, Arya, Madison, Dawson, Kayla and Tyler. She loved all of them dearly. She is also survived by sisters Emma Dean, Becky Field and Rhoda Jones as well as her brother Charles Sherman, Jr. Nell worked at Center Point ISD for over 18 years. She touched so many lives and we are all better people because she was here. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 1:00pm at the Landa Haus in Landa Park, 360 Aquatic Circle, New Braunfels, Texas.

  21. Mary Nell was a wonderful friend & class mate. She was fun, smart & I can still hear her yell as she guarded opponents during our basketball games. She was so proud of her family & spoke of her love for Jerry the last time we visited. Her family is in our prayers & she will live on in our hearts.

She has been a great blessing in my life and I cherish all the wonderful memories I have of her and all the time I spent with her wether it was at her house or elsewhere.   28. I am extremely sorry for your loss. Mary Nell and I went to Nueces Canyon ISD for six years together and graduated in 1961. She was an aggressive basketball player, and a very smart student, plus she was very strong in her faith. Memories of the fun times we shared during our school days will always be cherished. I know each of you are hurting over her passing, but do remember that she is in a better place and is at peace without pain.
