Micheline (Mich) was my sister in Christ and a tremendous influence and inspiration to me as a Christian and professional. I first met Mich in 1992 when she joined us at Southwest Bank of Texas as Internal Audit Manager…truthfully, I didn’t really know what an internal auditor really did but of course she knew so very well. Over the next 28 years Mich patiently taught me, mentored me, cared for me and my family for which I give thanks to the Lord. You see, I was one of the fortunate ones that got to work closely with Mich and see her never wavering commitment to the truth, to her principles and to always being a person of integrity. This may sound odd, but she was so committed to the truth that at times it would frustrate and amaze me…and at the same time make me laugh. Most folks that interfaced with Mich would think that she was only a serious person about everything but those that knew her closely knew that she was not always serious and would let down her guard (some) and enjoy the many fruits of her well lived life. Thanks Mich, for being who you were and showing us how to be better people. Must share with you that Hebrews 12:1-2 sums up my relationship with Mich… Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (HEB. 12:1–2) Mich, thanks for running the race marked out for you and being a lead character in my “great cloud of witnesses”!
I was very honored and blessed to take care of Micheline. I felt like apart of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Malissa Currie Home Instead Senior Care
Mickey and I used to make Christmas cookies together at her parents home in Windcrest. She was such a smart, thoughtful, funny, kind person. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but know she is in a better place. Rest in peace Mickey. Prayers to you and all your family.
To Micheline’s family: Micheline was a friend to so many, a banker who knew how to guide, and a person who brought out the best in others because she demanded the best from herself. She has left a great legacy in so many ways for all of us. My prayers are with you.
