Miguel O. "Mickey" Aguirre Jr. passed from this life to his peace and glory from his home on April 27, 2013.
He was born March 31, 1934 to the late Miguel & Maria Aguirre known to his family "Mickey", he married Evangelina Castaneda on June 27, 1954 in New Braunfels where they made their home.
He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel & Maria Aguirre, his brothers Jesus & Hilberto, sisters Sara Quiroz and Juanita Vallejo.
Miguel is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Evangelina C. Aguirre; children, Johnny "Kono" Aguirre, Miguel Aguirre III and wife Diana, Judith Hernandez and husband Adolfo, Gerard Aguirre and wife Melissa, all of New Braunfels, Vickie Flores and husband Roy of Monterey CA.; sister, Carlota Vallejo; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
He retired from West Point Pepperell after 47 years , as well from Comal ISD where he was a bus driver for 10 years. He was active in Little League Baseball for over 20 years, winning multiple City Championships.
Carrying our "Mickey" to his final resting place will be his grandsons Johnny Aguirre, Jr., Mike A. Hernandez, Miguel Aguirre IV, John P. Flores, David W. Hernandez and Joseph Aguirre. Honorary pallbearer will be Marcus Aguirre. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, followed by the Mass, which starts at 10:00 AM with Father Tony Pesek, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Wednesday morning. All wishing to attend both the visitation and Funeral Mass are asked to meet at the church at 9:00 AM on Wednesday.
Rest in Peace Uncle Mike, you will be greatly missed by all who shared a laugh or conversation with….

My deepest condolences to the Aguirre Family. Mickey was a good man and was a hero of mine since he was one of my first coaches in little league baseball. I also had the fortune to know him when we worked at the mill. He was always an honest and hard working man. He will be missed. Mike, Kono, and Judy, I am very sorry for your loss.
