Nancy Earle Blake

Nancy Earle Blake, 76, died peacefully in her sleep on January 27th, 2024 in New Braunfels, Texas.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Patrick Blake in New Braunfels, Texas and her proud sons: Nicholas Navin from Houston, Texas; Richard Navin from Boston, Massachusetts; and Christopher Navin from Chicago, Illinois.

Nancy was born in Washington, DC at Walter Reed Hospital in 1947 to Margaret Peck Earle and Robert Emmett Earle. The family moved frequently, following their father’s career in the US Army, including being stationed in Copenhagen, Denmark. The family eventually settled in Andover, Massachusetts.

Nancy graduated from Our Lady of Nazareth Academy, in Wakefield, MA in 1965 and Trinity College in Washington, DC. She had a long successful career in finance, becoming the first woman to be certified as a principal on the New York Stock Exchange, and later she served as the first woman Vice President at Atlantic Records.

Nancy married Richard Joseph Navin in 1977, and they welcomed Nicholas, Christopher and Richard to their family. Nancy had an adventurous spirit and traveled the world with her family across all of Europe in the 1980s, and as far away as Japan in the 1990s. She had great interest in child psychology, studying at the Carl G. Jung Institute in Zürich, Switzerland for several years. Eventually she settled back on the East Coast after her divorce from Richard. She eventually met Patrick Blake, and they lived in Long Island, NY; Oxford, England; Munich, Germany; and eventually returned to Cape Cod, MA as her parents’ health declined, so that she and her sisters could provide loving care. Her parents, children and husband were her life.

Nancy was passionate about education, music, genealogy research, and animals – always filling her home with many family pets. She found joy in playing the guitar, listening to music, and singing with her beautiful voice that would lift the room and bring smiles to everyone. Even as her health declined, she would sing and dance in her wheelchair to some of her favorite classic hits from the 60s, 70s and beyond… with a smile that lit up the room and those around her. In 2021, Nancy and Patrick built their retirement dream home and moved to New Braunfels, TX.

Nancy was predeceased by her father Robert, mother Margaret, sister Judy Earle, sister Margaret Ann Earle, and nephew Erick Earle. She leaves behind husband Patrick Blake and three sons Nicholas Navin and his wife Mei Rui, Christopher Navin and his wife Shelley Navin, and Richard Navin, as well as two grandchildren Lukas and Ava, one step-son Joe Navin of Florida, one step-daughter Sean Marie Oller of Vermont, two sisters, and one brother: Sally Earle Haas and her husband Dennis of New London, NH; Robert Earle and his wife Elizabeth of Harrisville, NH; and Theresa Earle of Hancock, NH.
