Nemecio Reyna Jr.

nemecio reyna

Nemecio Reyna, Jr., or Tito, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was 89 years old, born on February 10, 1936, in Mission, Texas, to Nemecio Reyna Sr. and Simona Salazar Reyna.

Tito was a man of many talents and a hard working family man. He was a skilled welder and truck driver, he rarely stopped moving. If he wasn’t at work, he was working on his vehicles, remodeling the house, or tending to his garden. When he did take a moment to relax, he enjoyed watching Westerns or going to the movies with his wife. He also loved to travel, visiting family near and far.

Pop was our “one-man band.” He loved to entertain, playing his accordion, guitar, and harmonica, and singing at family gatherings. He had a gift for storytelling and loved to share jokes. Though he wasn’t a large man in stature, he was a giant of strength and love to us. He always put others before himself, and he would give you his last dollar if you needed it.

He always dressed sharp, in slacks, a crisp dress shirt, and his cowboy boots, even when he was just running errands. He was smart, strong, and yes, a stubborn man. He was a devoted husband, a loving brother, our Pop, and our Grandpa. The lessons he taught us and the love he shared shaped us into who we are today. He was truly one of a kind.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Francis (Chica) Reyna; his children, Diane, Mario, Eddy, Sally, Nemecio III, Richard, Danny, and Joyce; his 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great child and his brother, Ramiro Reyna.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss in the family. He sounded so much like my dad playing the guitar, harmonica together and he loved playing the accordion.Uncle Tito is held dearly in Gods memory. Love with hugs. Debbie Reyna
