Norman Gus Fischbeck

Norman Gus Fischbeck, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away at his home with his loving family on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the age of 83. Norman was born on December 18, 1930 in Hays County to Herman and Erna Bauerschlag Fischbeck. Norman proudly served in the Texas National Guard, after which he served for many years for the New Braunfels Fire Department as a member and a volunteer. He also owned and operated True Pest Control for a number of years and was an avid bowler. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Ann Fischbeck; an infant daughter, Donna Jean Fischbeck; and his siblings, Roy Fischbeck and his wife Normaly, Albert Fischbeck and his wife Lucille, Wilburn "Willie" Fischbeck, Dorothy Roemisch and her husband Nelson and Herman Fischbeck, Jr. Survivors include his loving children, Dean Fischbeck and Michelle Martin and husband, James; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah and Jacob Kennedy. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Mary Fischbeck, wife of Willie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Hospice for their support and care for Norman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Association.
