Patrick Charles Scholl, age 81, of New Braunfels, passed away in his sleep on Sunday morning, May 26, 2024, at Pleasanton North Nursing & Rehab Center in Pleasanton, TX. Military Honors followed by a Memorial Service will take place at 10:00AM on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Lux Funeral Home Chapel.

Patrick was born on September 23, 1942, to Edward Charles and Mary Placida (Hermes) Scholl and called New Braunfels home for most of his life. He proudly served our country honorably in the United States Army, First Cavalry Division, during the Vietnam War. Notoriously mischievous in his younger years, “PC” as many knew him, could often be found with a Michelob in his hand and the scent of heavy cologne to mask the musk of the local honky-tonks. A crooked grin under his black cowboy hat was his signature look. He loved a good plate of cheese enchiladas (don’t you dare put onions on that plate). His other loves were Horse Racing, College Football, Dallas Cowboys, Sweet Tea, Tall Tales and Beautiful Ladies. He had adventures everywhere he went and was truly one of a kind. “Pa” as his grandchildren called him was a colorful personality and was known for his quick wit and frequent use of idioms to make one think and laugh. His most treasured title though, was “Daddy” to his beloved daughter, Zena and son, Todd. Although his loved ones are heartbroken that PC has left this earthly place, he led a full life with few regrets and lots of laughter. He is surely kicking up dust in Heaven and was probably first greeted by his mother, “Miss Pete”, who more than likely sprinkled him with extra Holy Water as he walked through the Pearly Gates. One way to honor PC would be to shoot the breeze with an old friend over a cold one to celebrate his life and remember his antics.

Mr. Scholl is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Placida “Pete” Scholl and son Edward Todd Scholl. Survivors include his daughter, Zena Scholl Felger and husband, Julius (J.R.); Grandchildren, Devin Sisk and husband Jed, Dylan Voyles and husband Austin, Demi Lara and husband, Jordan, Jacob Felger and Jared Caddell and wife, Rachel; Great-Grandchildren, Sunnie, Ira, Conner, Blane, Brooks, Lillian and Carlie; Aunt, Dorothy Hermes Oberhauser and numerous cousins. Also, his beloved pet and compadre, Charlie.

Join the family in celebrating the life of PC at the Elks Lodge #2279, 353 S. Seguin St., New Braunfels, TX following the service to share memories and stories of a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or the charity of your choice in his memory.
