Peggy Ann (Templet) Hill was born July 16, 1934 in Houston, TX. She passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2023 in San Antonio, TX at age 89. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Herman Lynn Hill; daughters Karen Heldt, Sandy Parker and husband Harold Parker, Toni Hill; son Bobby Golden and wife Christine Golden; granddaughters Kim McDougald and Amy Leddy, grandsons Tyler Golden and Jack Golden; great grandchildren Hadley, Graceyn and Parker McDougald who loved their great grandmother very much; and her cousins Kittell Davis, Shelly Nitschke and Jimmy Dorman who cared deeply for their “Aunt Peggy”.

Peggy grew up in Houston, TX. She attended grade school at Immaculate Conception Catholic School, and then later attended Milby High School, graduating in May 1952. She made many friends during her school years and remained lifelong friends with several of her classmates, to include her best friend, Dorothy Ruffeno. Peggy had a long career in the payroll department at Fluor Corp in Sugarland, Tx, working there over 25 years, retiring in 1991. She loved the people she worked with, and again remained lifelong friends with many of her co-workers.

Peggy had a love for flowers and gardening. She was an avid shopper and she never missed a good sale! She especially loved the holidays, decorating the house with all her great finds from clearance sales. Peggy was an animal lover too. Her cats were very special to her and also very spoiled. She had a heart for stray animals and wanted to save every one of them.

Peggy was a strong woman and faced challenges in her lifetime. She always bounced back from those challenges. Peggy’s children were all so very proud to call her our Mom and our friend. She was the cornerstone of the family. She made everyone seem welcomed. She loved her husband Lynn Hill and grateful for the care he provided over the last several years. We were blessed to have her with us for 89 years. Peggy’s family is extremely saddened by her death. She was loved very much and will be sorely missed. Plans for a life celebration will be announced at a later date.

  7. Our fondest memories of Peggy were spending evenings years ago in the kitchen in Katy while she and Lynn cooked an amazing meal for us. Of course we were all drinking wine, laughing and having great conversations. We would often end up on the back patio, in Peggy’s organic garden that she loved so much. Over the years we have kept up our dear friendship by spending time visiting Peggy and Lynn in San Antnio. We would reminisce about our early years and catch up with each other. There’s was a love story, and Lynn became Peggy’s faithful helper when she needed him the most. We will remember Peggy’s beautiful smiling face, and her lively curiosity about events and people in our lives. We were privileged and blessed to call her our friend and we will miss her dearly.
