Robert Arthur Casanova was born on a Tuesday, October 29, 1963, the eldest of three children, to Frank and Marietta Casanova, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

In his youth he was an altar boy at Most Precious Blood. He also played sports, baseball and football. He loved watching wrestling, all three would become his favorite pass time to watch with his children and later grandchildren.

Robert moved to San Antonio, TX with his family in 1975, later graduating from Winston Churchill High School in 1982. Shortly after his graduation, he moved to Florida, where he lived and worked for 3 years. He then moved to his hometown in Corpus Christi, where he met his first wife, Donna. They married and had three sons: Sebastian Alexander, Zachary Elijah and Nicholas Aaron. They later divorced.

After many years of being single, Robert remarried to the “love of his life”, Lucia. They had a son together, Jiovani Valentino. Lucia had three children of her own: Karrin Elaine, Mikael Warner and Joshaua Warner. Together, they formed a family. Robert would playfully say, “We are The Mexican Brady Bunch!”. During his marriage with Lucy, they enjoyed FAMILY and traveling when they found time. He would say, “This is my best life”. He would often share stories of his time with his grandparents, especially his grandfather, TC.

Robert was very proud of his large family. He became ordained in 2021, where he officiated the wedding of his third son, Nicholas.

Robert was a good counsel for advice and had a certain way of relaying his message in a funny, serious manner, often using his own life experiences as an example.

He was a fantastic story teller and could lure you in with such sincerity-he could easily captivate an audience. Charismatic to say the least falls short of the magic he brought.

Robert enjoyed food and won the San Antonio menudo cook off in 2003. He entered a BBQ cook off while he lived in Burnet TX with his wife and family. He loved smoking brisket.

He also loved to sing and would entertain the residents of nursing homes singing karaoke. When he would go to Houston to visit Lucy’s family, he would sing at his brothers-in-law’s restaurant.

When his wife Lucy volunteered at a home for hospice residents, he too joined, and would play his guitar for them. He loved music and had the music in him!

In 2018, Robert and his wife received their foster license and became a Kinship Foster Home. He was very proud of his foster license.
Robert loved to laugh and have a good time. His favorite was co-hosting their Halloween parties. Robert loved dressing up as Madea! He enjoyed a good cigar with a glass of crown neat, and the company of good friends. He loved having fun and was pure life!

He left a lasting impression and touched every person he met. Everyone has their own unique memory of Robert and what he meant to them.
He loved his family in Houston, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Robert’s career path was in maintenance, where he worked for Christus for several years. His journey would take him into the nursing home industry which he loved. His career concluded with Worth & Associates, where he held the title Building Engineer.

In May of 2024, Robert was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He underwent inpatient chemo therapy for 7 months.
On Thursday, December 26, 2024, the Lord came and took Robert home in reward for his strength and fierce fight with leukemia. He had developed complications from the flu. Robert passed away peacefully at Resolute Hospital with his wife and family by his side.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Marietta V. Casanova; his brother, Ralph A. Casanova; his grandparents, T.C & Olivia Villarreal, and Frank and Grace Casanova.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy; children, Sebastian (Nicole), Zachary, Nicholas (Perla), Karrin, Mikael (Joanna), Joshaua & Jiovani; grandchildren, Lillian, Damian, Levi, Max, Zoie, James, Colton & Nicholas; his father, Frank; his sister, Renee’ (Dylan); special family member, Roland *Red*; his niece, Madigan and nephew, Christian, along with many nieces and nephews through marriage, uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law.
