Robert Joseph Moore

robert moore
Robert Joseph Moore was born in Cameron, TX on July 30th, 1952 where he was adopted by Mattie Louise Moore and Donald Franklin Moore. He was the big brother to four younger siblings and often spoke about the joys of growing up with such a large family. Robert married Kathleen Ann Kohler in 1979, and moved to Canyon Lake where they lived in the beauty of the Texas hill country. After 15 years of marriage and wishing for children, their first and only child Emily Jean Moore was born. He was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as a few grand nieces and nephews and loved watching them all grow up. Robert was a man of many skills and trades, always spending time to learn and widen his knowledge. Eventually he put this drive to work and started his own business, which he ran until his passing in July of 2019. Robert enjoyed traveling the country with Kathleen and their daughter, creating road trip traditions and countless memories. Robert was proceeded in death by his wife Kathleen who passed in April of 2019. He is survived by his sisters Norma, Janice, Joan, his brother Edward, and Daughter Emily. A Graveside service will be held at Hill Country Memorial Gardens in New Braunfels. Please join us in celebrating the life of such a vibrant man.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I keep thinking that you are going to say, “Hey, up here” and when I look up, you’re going to throw water on me from the roof just like you did when we were younger. You never did fight fair. I always had you on a pedestal. I remember the day that I realized that you were just a man. You were always bigger than life and even though you were just a man, you have always been a bright star in my life. I was very lucky to be your sister. I will miss you so much, but I am glad that you no longer suffer and that I believe that you are with Kathy. I know that you missed her and was lost without her. Rest in Peace!

  2. Bob, I have so many wonderful memories with you and Toni and Carol and often Dan Smotherman. And how you loved to come to Jim’s coffee shop and drink your coffee. You and your guitar, your corny jokes, your laugh. Way too many memories to put here. You will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace, you and Kathy, and I know you have everyone laughing in Heaven.

  3. Bob, you were such an integral and supportive member of our Omei dojo! We will miss you more than we can express. It is never easy to say goodbye, so we will just say, Hug Kathy for us and we will hug Emily for you!

  4. It is still so unreal that you are no longer with us. To me, you were always a big ole teddy bear. You will be missed by so many, but we know that you are no longer hurting & you are with your one true love. Give all our loved ones a big hug up there. Love ya cuz. Till we see you again, “Go Rest High on that Mountain.”
