Mr. Robert Stanley Brooks, 81, of Canyon Lake, TX area since 2007, formerly a resident of Portland, OR and San Antonio, TX, died Thursday, March 14, 2024, tragically, in Sattler, TX. He was born in North Bend, OR. His nicknames were Butch, Bob, and Duck.
Mr. Brooks started as part owner of a plywood mill, then joined and retired as Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force of 23 years receiving 17 Air Force Medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He continued to serve his Country in the United States Postal Service for 20 years. He then continued his journey to serve his community in many significant ways primarily with the Lions Club since 2008.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Sherron, married 63 years; his son, Robert (Bobby), Jr., and his two daughters, Tamera (Tammy) and Lucinda (Cindy); eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by sisters, Joan, Barbara and Nancy.

Burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors performed by the United States Air Force will take place on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 9:45 AM at Shelter #5. A reception will be held at 11:45 AM followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church with Reverend Polly Angle officiating.
