Rogelio Pena

rogelio pena
Rogelio (Roy) Pena born July 16th, 1983 in Seguin, Texas passed away August 6th, 2023 at his home in Nixon, Texas at the age of 40. He is survived by his wife Sierra Pena and his daughter Jocelyn M. Pena. He is also survived by his parents Delia Reina and Roy Pena, siblings Priscilla Sandoval (James), Juan J. Escobedo (Kimberly), Ray Pena, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Escobedo of Tucson, Arizona, Juan and Dolores Bustos of Nixon, Texas, Francisco and Magdalena Pena of Smiley, Texas and Leno Reina of Leesville, Texas, Martina Ramirez, Jose Bustos, Enedina Williams, Domingo Bustos, Candy Bustos, Eddie Ray Robinson, Fernando Rosas and Johnny and Dora Pena.
Roy Pena was a great man who would help anyone. He was always quick to call and check in on friends in need asking how he could lend a hand in any way. For anyone who knew Roy, they knew he had always been an avid Aggies fan. He would argue with anyone that his nationality was Texan and only Texan. Roy was known for his witty comebacks, his sarcastic nature and his smug response to those whose opinion was less favorable than his. He was also known to be a loving, caring, great brother, friend, son, and most importantly a great father.
Roy’s beautiful daughter Jocelyn M. Pena was the most important thing to him. She was his pride and joy. Just talking about Jocelyn he would light up. He was a great man in his time and hopefully a better one in the afterlife. Our dear Roy “our historian of Texas” will be greatly missed by all.
The Memorial service for Roy will be held Saturday, August 19th at 5:30pm at First Baptist church of Nixon. The address is 403 N. Texas Avenue, Nixon, Texas, 78140.
