Resided in: New Braunfels, Texas

It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Samuel Brown, who peacefully passed away at the age of 90.

He shared a devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Mary, for over 65 years. They built a family founded on love, hard work, and unwavering commitment. Together they created a legacy that continues through their children; Sherry Shoults (Sheldon) and children, Michael Pannullo, Patrick Jourdan and Steven Shoults:  Roger Brown (Vanessa) and children, Hanna Schramm, DeAnn Hooper and Hunter Brown: Patricia Gebauer (John) child Travis Loftin:  Barbra Phillips (George) and child John Michael. He is survived by two sisters, Rachael Freeman and Sarah Bishop.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Sam spent more than 40 years at Mission Valley Mills, where his strong work ethic, leadership, and integrity earned him the respect of his coworkers and ultimately led him to the position of supervisor. His career reflected the values he lived by every day—honesty, perseverance, and pride in a job well done.

Even after long days at the mill, he could often be found in his welding shop, where he enjoyed creating, repairing, and building with his skilled hands. He was happiest when working on a project and sharing his knowledge with others.

Throughout his life, he had a passion for motorcycles and adventure, enjoying both on-road and off-road riding. He stayed active through sports, spending many years playing tennis, volleyball, handball and racquetball. Later in life, he embraced golf, finding enjoyment in the game and the friendships it brought. He enjoyed living on the farm with Roger and family and checking on animals on his golf cart.

Above all, Sam loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were among his greatest joys, and he treasured the countless memories made with his children and grandchildren in the deer blind, and on the water.. He passed along not only his love for the outdoors but also lessons in patience, self-reliance, respect for nature, and the importance of family.

He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, quiet wisdom, and steadfast dedication to those he loved. His example of hard work, humility, and devotion to family leaves a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the family he cherished. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Grace at Discover Care Homes for the compassion, support and dignity they provided throughout this journey. We are thankful for the care and love they showed him and our family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a hospice of your choice.

A life measured not by years alone, but by the lives he touched, lessons he shared, and love he gave.
