Simon G. Mendoza, Sr., a resident of New Braunfels, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 23, 2024 at his home in New Braunfels, at the age of 75. Simon was born on February 18, 1949 in Lockhart, TX to the late Enrique Mendoza and Isabel Aguilar Mendoza. Simon worked at Alamo Plating in Converse as a chrome polisher for many years. He loved watching western movies, sports games and enjoyed spending time on Facebook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Isabel Mendoza; wife, Angelita Mendoza, who passed away on June 17, 2023; siblings, Enrique Mendoza, Samuel Mendoza, Rita Mireles and Isabel Mendoza. Survivors include his children, Simon Mendoza, Jr., Jennifer Mendoza, Joseph Mendoza; grandchildren, Kayla Mendoza, Kendra Mendoza, Arabella Mendoza, Josiah Mendoza, Adriana Zurita, Romeo Rodriguez, Brooklynn Brawley and Gabriel Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Autumn Smith, Aveah Rodriguez and Sebastian Meza; brothers, Joe Mendoza and wife, Maria and Juan Mendoza and wife, Carolina; sister, Esperanza Garcia. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 1104 N. Commerce St., Lockhart 78644.
