Stephanie Ann Dickens
November 25, 1951 ~ November 3, 2016
Stephanie's life began in San Juan, Puerto Rico on November 25, 1951. She left us on November 3, 2016 after a long battle with continued health issues, surrounded by family and friends.
Since her father was in the Army, she had the opportunity to also live in California, New York and finally moved to Texas. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, soon met Doug and they were married on March 27, 1971. Stephanie spent her life devoted to Doug, music, art and helping people. She was a very talented musician. She played flute, piccolo and loved playing drums in some local bands. Stephanie was an extremely talented 5TH generation artist who painted in oils and water color and enjoyed sculpting, ceramics and charcoal drawing. Stephanie loved riding motorcycles, working on her tractor, and was our resident gun and knife expert.
She is survived by her loving, wonderful husband Douglas D. Dickens, Jr. of Canyon Lake, Texas and sister Ellen F. Sanchez of McKinney, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father CWO-3 Salvador F. Sanchez, USAR, of San Antonio, Texas and mother Helaine V. Fantel Sanchez of New York City, New York.
Stephanie was a very caring and giving person throughout her life, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be very much missed by us all.
Godspeed sweet Stephanie Ride on.

Stephanie and I had so much in common. She was my best friend. She taught me how to shoot and encouraged me to get my CHL. She could make anyone laugh. Her wit was phenomenal. She loved to shop and was the most generous person. She loved her husband of 46 years and loved her kitties as her family. She had friends all over the nation who cared about her. She had the most terrific will to live and carried her terrible pain gracefully. I miss her so. Doug was the most patient care giver. I admire his faithfullness. I love you Doug and I cry with you but rejoice in knowing that Stephanie is no longer in pain. She is in heavenly paradise with perfect aim.
Her humbleness and kindness had proven to us that there are still great people in this world. Until we meet again, she will be greatly missed but kept close and dear to our hearts in a special way.
