Sylvia V. Bigler

Sylvia V. Bigler, age 78, and a resident of La Vernia, passed away early Monday morning, October 23,
2023 at New Haven Memory Care in Floresville. Sylvia was born on November 24, 1944 in Port
Arthur, TX to the late Eugene Vernor Corkran and Sylvia Margaret Landry Corkran. Later in life,
Sylvia married Bill Bigler on December 23, 1965 in Port Arthur, TX. For many years, Mrs. Bigler was
employed as a secretary for a law firm specializing in elder law. A former resident of New Braunfels,
Sylvia was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In addition, she was a member of St.
Ann’s Christian Mother’s Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Sylvia
Corkran; brother Dolfus Eugene Corkran; granddaughter, Holly Bigler, and by her grandmothers, Ella
Broussard Landry and Georgia Gilley Corkran. Survivors include her loving husband, Bill Bigler;
daughters, Pamela Sisson and Carol Ford; granddaughters, Kayleigh Ey, Heather Rodriguez and
McKenna Ford; grandson, Michael Bigler; great-granddaughters, Ainsley Ey, Alizabethe Rodriguez,
Alexandra Rodriguez, Aalyiah Rodriguez; Allysson Rodriguez, and, Paisley Knight; great-grandsons, Nash
Ey, Daxton Bigler and Kegan Norred. Sisters, Iretha Corkran, Ora Nell Corkran; brothers Thomas
Corkran and Brendan Corkran. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. All services will end at the conclusion of the memorial service on Friday morning.
