Terry Linder, 79, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026. He was born on March 25, 1947, in Hays, Kansas, to Robert and Bonnie Linder.

Terry was a man of honor, patience, and unwavering optimism. No matter the circumstance, he was often the most positive person in the room. He graduated from Plainville High School in Plainville, Kansas, earned his bachelor’s degree from Emporia State Teachers College, and proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged.

Terry went on to build a successful career with UPS, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to help others. He believed in showing up, working hard, and doing the right thing. Those who knew him knew they could always count on him.

While Terry was proud of his professional accomplishments, his greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, father-in-law, and an extraordinary Pop Pop. He never missed an opportunity to support those he loved, whether attending a dance performance, a football game, a band concert, a golf outing, a camping trip, or simply spending time together. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel important, valued, and loved. His family and friends often commented that he somehow made each person feel like they were his favorite.

After retirement, Terry and his wife, Lisa, enjoyed traveling, camping, golfing, and exploring the country together. He loved spending evenings around a campfire with family and friends, listening to classic country music and enjoying a cold beer. Terry lived with gratitude and joy, and one of his favorite sayings was, “Life is good.”

Terry fought cancer with remarkable strength, courage, and determination. Even while facing his own challenges, his greatest concern remained with the people he loved. His resilience, faith, and love for his family remained evident until the very end.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bonnie Linder, and his parents-in-law, Douglas and Delores Mikkelsen.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lisa Linder; daughter, Tara Roussett and husband Rodney Roussett; son, Michael Linder and wife Dana Lachman; grandchildren, Tyler Roussett and Raegan Roussett; brothers, Brent Linder and wife Lyn Linder, and Doug Linder and wife Andi Linder; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many cherished friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Canyon Lake, Texas, with a reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice or SJRC Texas in honor of Terry Linder.

  1. You guys nailed that to a tee with your kind words! I couldn’t have said it better. I will only add that he was the best brother-in-law any one could have or hope for and I will miss his presence, his caring nature, all the golf that we played together and his positive attitude. Love you my brother! Stac
